Susan Dalgleish

My name is Susan Dalgleish and we lost our little boy Michael in 2001. At the time there wasn’t an official Sands group in Dumfries but I received a lot of support from some of the girls who now form Dumfries and Galloway Sands.

I have been involved with Dumfries and Galloway Sands since it was formed in 2007 and during this time have completed my initial and more recently my advanced befriender training. Our group may be small but we strive to help and support bereaved parents and indeed anyone affected by the death of a baby throughout our region.

Within our group, all our stories are different, but we all share the devastating and tragic loss of a baby and I can’t stress enough how much it helps to talk to someone who has been through a similar experience.
