The band, and members of Sands, travelled around the region in a bus visiting eight towns and playing for 15- 20 minutes in each High Street while the group rattled their collecting tins. It was one of the Pipe bands’ busiest days of the year but also a great opportunity to practice together and raise funds for Sands.
The day was sponsored by a local company- Dunlop’s, McCall’s coaches of Lockerbie provided the bus and Tesco provided funds to buy water and snacks. This meant all money raised went to Dumfries Sands. After an exhausting but fun day the total raised was £1000.01.
