Local MP shows SANDS support
David Mundell MP for Dumfriesshire was pleased to show his continued support for SANDS by welcoming the winner of a charity auction lunch and tour with him at the House of Commons this week. The Dumfries and Galloway SANDS charity ball raised £12,000 which was donated to national research funds.
SANDS is an organization which can offer much needed help to those who experience the death of their baby during pregnancy or after birth. SANDS aim to highlight the fact that the death of a baby is a devastating experience for everyone concerned and it is important that those affected have access to adequate support services.
Mr Mundell said:
“SANDS do an important job in Dumfries and Galloway and I am keen to support them in their various campaigns and do what i can to highlight the pain and distress caused by losing a baby. I was delighted to welcome the Grieve family to Westminster in support of this cause and I hope they had an enjoyable day!”
“Anyone looking for help and advice or to get involved in the work SANDS do should visit dg-sands.org “
